Hi, I’m Susan Lillis. After I graduated with a bachelor of science in psychology from St. Lawrence University, I went to work at a lobbying firm in Washington, DC. It wasn’t long after that when I decided to pursue a law degree.
In 1984, I graduated from Northeastern University with my juris doctorate and passed the Massachusetts Bar exam shortly thereafter. With a focus on domestic relations law, I began my legal career at Nissenbaum Law Offices, a firm in downtown Boston. Over the course of the next 15 years, I would work at several Boston area firms—Geller & Kelston, Atwood & Cherny, and Whipple & King, P.C.—before opening my own practice in Ipswich in 2001.
I take my commitment to my clients very seriously and I am proud that my work in the area of domestic relations has earned me the top AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell every year since 1995. This is the highest possible peer review rating for Legal Ability and Ethical Standards. In 2012, Martindale-Hubbell listed me as one of Boston’s Top Rated Lawyers.
In addition to my legal practice, I have served on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Law Center since 1995. In 2006 I received the Essex County Probate and Family Court Lawyer for the Day Award and I am an active volunteer in the Essex County Probate Court conciliation program. I have been a resident of the North Shore for the past 20 years and have served on several local non-profit organizations in the community.
I welcome the opportunity to help you get through this difficult chapter of your family’s life. Please contact me at 978-356-2934 extension 12 to schedule an initial consultation.
